Welcome to Jiu Jitsu in Minutes. My name is Jason Scully, the creator of the Grapplers Guide. Back in 2006 I made my first ever "X Techniques in Y Minutes" Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and grappling reference videos. Since then, those videos have become some of the most viewed grappling videos on RUclips. I have decided to dedicated an entire channel to just those specific types of videos so the grappling world has a first hand reference to quickly view.
These videos will give you ideas, concepts, inspiration, and more. I hope they help you along your journey.
Many of the concepts and techniques in these videos are taught in detail at grapplersguide.com and if they are not available in detail on the Grapplers Guide, we will get the detailed instruction on the site for sure at some point!
You can find one of the biggest databases and concepts from high level experts on the Grapplers Guide as well!
Hope this channel is helpful to you!

Can you show a no-gi variation?
Someone que pink guy
Does the wiggle really help alot? Ive never was taught that part!
The closed guard overhook is one of my favorite positions to work from. Don’t see too many at my gym work from it.
Whoa whoa whoa….all the time…or higher percentage? Which is it?
Well if you do such a terrible roll, then you will get caught in side control each time. Put some speed, timing and explosiness into the roll, and you end up on top
I had an accident in pretty much this position where my partner tried to turn on the side and throw his leg ontop, but he was just a tad short so what happened was basically a full torque on my toes without any opportunity to tap or move my knee. Somehow all my ligaments survived, but I limped for a month and for like a week I felt it in the ankle, knee and even hip. With some bad luck you could end up giving yourself what is essentially an inside heel hook that comes on with no time to tap. To each their own, but to me the straight ankle is the least of my concerns about that position..
Would this works if some gets you on shoulder clunch ?
No, the shoulder crunch is an underhook
Nice
Nice!
Holy Shit....that looks life changing
SICKKKKK
If you keep control of his wrist you can push it to his chest and set up a baratoplata.
This reminds me of a reverse kimura position by Drew Weatherhead
Kit Dale calls that the Great White grip, if anyone wants some more free details about it. This, by itself, is a pretty freaking awesome introductory to the position!
Love this grip. Been using it in gi for awhile. I think I saw Marcelo Garcia use it. It’s helpful because I’m older and don’t like fighting for that kimura finish against stronger guys. And going for that choke is awesome ! PS. You’re one of the first guys I started watching when I first started Bjj back in 2011. Loved your videos.
Give me your wrist. Your other wrist!!!
This is a great tip! The Kimura is one of my favorite and most reliable techniques.
Has the idea of stepping on someone ever been considered in passing or just in general for bjj like what if they're seated guard and you push them down with foot
Probably asking to get single legged or wrestle uped
Y do so many bjj guys have bald heads and look like joe rogan😂
hip bump fail to guillotine fail to 100% sweep is my entire guard game
Ha. Basically came to write this.
I was waiting for Duracell
Note for self: Failed hip bump sweep to submission: 1. Guillotine 2. Omoplata 3. Leg triangle 4. Kimura
thx i needed to hear this
Nice hospital outfit on the bottom guy
Dude I love your videos! I really enjoy how you cover so many concepts & techniques, it’s a nice quick review/crash course into each position. Keep up the amazing work bro 👊🏽. OSS
Almost like he can elbow ur face
@@justaman7682 he’s not elbowing anything from this situation.
Very cool! It's almost like a reversed bow and arrow choke! I'll have to try that
Fighting not to be swept is what causes knee injuries
Generally good advice. However, this plays into the hands of the fighter that uses techniques that rely on knee-jerk resistant reactions. It's just one of those things.
Biting work great with this philosophy.
I wish I learned this earlier
You always give us many amazing tips, That's why I love your channel
I like to flow roll and always request light rolls with my partners. I don’t like to be complacent and let them land moves I could otherwise resist but I also want to honor my request to keep the energy low. It’s a hard balance. I don’t want to risk injury to anyone but I also don’t want to ingrain passivity into my instincts.
Never would have thought of that , makes complete sense
I usually just thank them for the darce
Helio Gracie is rolling over in his grave about the dude in the Krispy Kream outfit. Oh how far we have come.?
We have evolved from the weirdo brothers who beat up a catch wrestler 3-1 because he kept beating them.
I feel like either way you still can get stuffed and your opponent can still get top position or take your back and maybe even transfer to an arm bar sub especially in a real sparring match🤷🏾♂️
He can still get on top of you. And if he puts weight down on u, theres no way you lift all his body weight after u are flattened out. If anyrhing he stuffs that attempt and takes yout back.
It's give up top position or get caught with an arm bar, both have their weaknesses and just gotta adapt in the moment. Great to know there is more than one way out though.
Thanks professor! Looks like a great drill to make these skills razor sharp! I like the Krispy Kreme no gi set your partner has.
Awesome move🔥 I would be careful with training partners looks dangerous if they dont roll😳
As a nerd I'm proving that Jiujitsu is for everyone
Not off the guy doing it to you is a black belt. You’re going under his legs or throwing your legs up across his body
@@mwithers13 I’ve done this to black belts
That second escape is old school, been using it for 24 years. I prefer it but you better watch out for a mean arm bar if your opponent is really skilled in that field
I would prefer to get the body triangle but not everyone has long legs, and not everyone is skinny. So not everyone can get a body triangle on everyone. This is a good option for those people.
Thank you. I have been working on being more stable and controlling while on the back so I’ve pushed or positioned my feet on their hip bone thus not allowing their hips to twist and start to escape.
I have a question if the guy is so flexible?
@@xaviermartinez4773 no, I’m not very flexible
Damn could you show a little bit slower also😂
Sick!!!!
Very interesting. Can't wait to try
Underutilized submission escape. 🔥
